Buffalo, New York's Alpha Hopper continues to serve up sophisticated experimental punk that's equal parts ear-worms and math homework with their second LP, "Aloha Hopper." Elements of punk, hardcore, noise rock, and no-wave all come together in a frenetic stew of guitar-driven rock & roll built on a foundation of minimalism and repetition. The female-fronted foursome create a complex wall of sound that is dark, weird and intense, yet still decidedly fun and playful.
